The second annual Rock the Sound....Sturgis Bound competition roared to life with the help of a several hundred bikes, two great bands and the one much appreciated sunny day. Fortune 500 was the first band to take the stage. This three piece power trio impressed the audience with solid musical chops, well crafted vocal harmonies and a diverse range of original songs. Hungry Dogs were the second band to take the stage. The blues is what they promised and the blues is definitely what they delivered. The five piece band highlighted their talents with moving guitar and keyboard solos as well as some tasty lead vocal work from the guitar and keyboard players.
Both Fortune 500 and Hungry Dogs left the audience wanting more and that's just what they'll get. There are several more bands that have yet to take the stage so we'll just have to wait and see which band finds themselves entertaining the hundreds of thousands of bikers who make their way to the legendary Buffalo Chip each year for Sturgis. Sound Harley-Davidson, located in Marysville Washington, hosted the Rock the Sound...Sturgis Bound event last year and with the help of the Mackie sound systems provided four weekends of amazing band competitions. When it was all over the winning prize was awarded to Midstokke. This powerhouse band went on to play multiple audience-inspiring shows at the Buffalo Chip during the 2007 Sturgis rally. If you missed them last year you'll get another chance because they are back as part of this years amazing line up of bands that will rock the Chip.
